BUSINESS STORIES: A LOOK BEHIND at{mine}

Hallo ihr Lieben!!! Zurück aus dem Sommerfrische darf ich euch heute gleich zu unserer neuen Kolumne "BUSINESS STORIES" hier auf unserem Blog einladen. Der liebe Igor vom Happy Interior Blog hatte mir schon letztes Jahr eine Einladung zu der wunderbaren Online Wohn-Community at{mine} geschickt. at{mine} ist ein soziales Netzwerk für Einrichtungs ,- und Designliebhaber, die die gemeinsame Leidenschaft fürs Wohnen teilen und sich gegenseitig einen Einblick in ihre eigenen vier Wände verschaffen. Die kreativen Köpfe hinter at{mine} , Ia Bergman und Helena Benelbas, haben einen digitalen Raum im Netz geschaffen, der ganz wunderbar die kleinen alltäglichen Wohngeschichten erlebbar macht und gleichzeitig die eigene Kreativität zu Hause beflügelt. Mit Sitz in London startete at{mine} 2014 als private Beta-Testing Community und wird mittlerweile von einem großen Pool international bekannter Interior Blogger benützt. Die beiden Gründerinnen, Ia Bergman and Helena Benelbas, liessen nach mehrjähriger Tätigkeit im internationalen Bankwesen ihre Karrieren hinter sich und verfolgten mit viel Leidenschaft und Herzblut ihre Idee einer Online Community für Wohnen und Design. Ab nächster Woche ist ein Relaunch ihrer Webseite geplant um at{mine} der gesamten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

In unserem heutigen Interview geben die beiden sympathischen multikulturell aufgewachsenen Frauen uns einen Einblick in die Anfänge und in ihre aktuelle Arbeit bei at{mine}.  






Hello my dears !!! After our summer break I may invite you to our new column "BUSINESS STORIES" here on our blog. My dear friend Igor from Happy Interior Blog sent me last year an invitation to the wonderful online community at{mine}. at{mine} is a social network community for interior,- and design enthusiasts who share a common passion for living and give each other an insight into their own homes. The creative minds behind at{mine}, Ia Bergman and Helena Benelbas, have created a digital space in the network, which shows quite wonderful the small everyday living stories in life and at the same time inspires your creativity at home. Based in London at{mine} was launched as a private beta testing community in 2014 and is now used by a large pool of internationally renowned Interior Blogger. The two founders, Ia Bergman and Helena Benelbas, left their careers behind them (they have worked several years in the international banking system) and pursued their idea of ​​an online community for living and design with passion, heart and soul. Next week they will plan a re-launch of their website to make at{mine} available to the public. 

In our interview, the two sympathetic multicultural grown women give us an insight into the beginnings and in their current work at at{mine}.



1. Bei welcher Gelegenheit kam euch die Idee zu eurer Wohn-Community für Wohnen und Design?
1. On what occasion did you have the idea for the online community for home and design lovers?

“Wir haben oft Inspiration fur unsere eigenen Wohnungen zuhause bei Freunden gefunden.Unter dem Motto “das gefällt mir aber, wo hast du das denn her?” und das hat zu netten und informativen Unterhaltungen geführt. Der "Aha-Effekt" kam dann bei einem Einrichtungskurs, wo die Teilnehmer untereinander stolz Bilder von ihren eigenen Wohnungen per Handys zeigten. Wir sahen darin sofort die Chance einen digitalen Raum im Netz zu schaffen, in dem sich Wohn ,- und Designliebhaber über ihre Ideen vom individuellen Wohnen austauschen und Inspirationen für neue Wohnideen sammeln können." 

 “We had long been finding inspiration for our own homes at friend’s places. Usually it would go something like ‘I love this, where did you get it from?’ and that would spark a conversation. The ‘Aha moment’ came at an interior design course, where people were proudly showing snapshots of their homes to others on their mobile phones. We saw a gap in the market for a dedicated online space for design lovers to share their own homes and get inspiration from other real interiors.”

2. Was macht at{mine} so einzigartig und speziell gegenüber anderen Online Communities für Wohnen und Design?

2. What makes at{mine} unique and special compared to other online communities for home and design?

“bei at{mine} dreht sich alles um reale Lebensräume. Die User können sich bei anderen Mitgliedern umschauen, entdecken wie sie ihr zuhause einrichten und dabei Inspirationen für die eigenen vier Wände sammeln. Unsere Online-Plattform ermöglicht es auch auf sehr leichte Weise, durch das Taggen von Produkten in den hochgeladenen Wohnbildern der User, sofort auf mögliche Online-Shopseiten zurückzugreifen. Man ist quasi nur einen Klick vom Warenkorb entfernt."

“at{mine} is all about real homes and the stories they tell: how people actually live and what decoration they use and love in their own homes. We also make it really easy for people to share and find out where things are from directly in tags in the pictures, so it’s a practical shopping tool, too.” 

3. Im Moment befindet ihr euch noch in der Beta-Testphase mit at{mine}. Was wünscht ihr euch im Hinblick auf euren bevorstehenden Relaunch eurer Webseite und welche Hoffnungen verbindet ihr damit?
3. At the moment you are still in the private beta testing, but you're planning a forthcoming launch of your website. What hopes and desires do you associate with this next step?

“In der Beta-Testphase haben wir viele kreative Köpfe zusammengebracht, und basierend auf deren Feedback unsere Idee für die at{mine} - Plattform weiterentwickelt. Wir haben eine Community geschaffen, wo sich alle Mitglieder wohlfühlen und Spaß haben. Darauf wollen wir aufbauen und hoffen, dass at{mine} neuen Mitgliedern genausogut gefällt wie unseren lieben Beta Testern.”

“Launching in beta allowed us to grow a dedicated community of inspiring individuals, designers and brands, and to consult with our members what they wanted out of the experience. We used that feedback to flesh out a simple idea to a fully ‘singing and dancing’ platform that we knew our members would love. We hope it will be equally well received by the public, and to continue to grow our lovely community of creative people and their homes.” 

4. 3 Dinge...auf die ihr in eurem eigenen zu Hause nicht verzichten möchtet? 

4. Three things...which are very important in your own homes?

“Wir haben beide kleine Kinder und die Küche ist der Ort, wo sich die Familie versammelt – das ist uns wichtig. Nachdem wir nicht so viel Schlaf bekommen, ist es uns auch wichtig, ein komfortables Bett zu haben und dass das Schlafzimmer schön ruhig gestaltet ist. (keinen Fernseher oder elektrische Geräte!). Und natürlich die Waschmaschine, die rund um die Uhr läuft!”

  

“We are both mothers to very small children, so our homes are Family homes and the heart is the kitchen. As we don’t get too much sleep, a comfortable bed and calming bedroom environment is really important too (no TV or gadgets!). And not to forget the washing machine which runs 24/7!”

5. Ihr dürft eine Zeitreise unternehmen und jemanden in der Vergangenheit besuchen. In welchen Räumen und bei wem findet ihr euch wieder?

5. You may take a time travel and visit someone from the past. In which rooms and with whom would you find yourself?

“Wir sind von Altbauwohnungen fasziniert und leben beide in viktorianischen Wohnungen in London. Es wäre so interessant zu erleben, wie Familien vor 100+ Jahren in diesen Räumen gelebt haben.”  

“We love the charm of old buildings and both live in Victorian homes in London. We often wonder ‘what if these walls could talk’?, so we would love to be a fly on the wall and experience how ordinary people lived in times long gone.”
